Barry L. Richards

Born and raised in Altoona, PA, Barry Richards attended Penn State University and graduated with an A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1982--also attended

California University Of PA and graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education (Mathematics) in 1995. Worked as a computer hardware engineer for 6 years, and also worked with hardcore juvenile delinquents in the city of Pittsburgh for 4 years. Began teaching in 1997--have taught in Baltimore, MD and Kansas for 23 years. Have taught 7th grade math through Pre-Calculus. Also have a middle school science certification. Currently teach at Wellsville High School in Wellsville, KS - teaching math, middle school science and STEM. Proud father of two boys, Luke (age 18) and Jacob (age 16). Have two greatest jobs on earth, being a dad and a teacher. Have coached for 25 plus years, played college baseball and basketball at the NAIA level. Participating in the 2021 KU RET summer research program with Dr. Alan Allgeier.
